Stevens Pass- Car Accident

Last weekend i got a ride up to the mountain from Avery. On the way there when we were about 10 minutes away. There was this guge car crash. it backed the highwday all the way down almost back to the closest city. We were stuck near the end and were wondering what happened so we debated to get out and check it out. We got out of the car and started walking. It was about a mile to the car accident. As we were walking we saw other people getting out to check it out to. Then we were getting out to check it out to. Then we were getting close there was a ring of people around the accident. We had to go up on the snowbank just to check it out. There was a truck flipped on its side with a huge dent in it. Then the other car got smashed togethter like a slinkie. The car was completely shrunk up. There was a guy in the car with his arm twitching. The cop told us to head back to the cars shortly after.

Whistler

When Patrick and I went to WHistler we saw tight stuff. As we were waiting to take the Pead Chair it just shut down. Wi were forced to wait but I saw the trippiest looking snowboard. The board was shaped like a beer bottle. Before I had a chance to ask him where he got it the chair started moving. Once reaching the top we saw this funny sighn that said danger , extreme contions, avalanchge threat and all this other stuff that basically said your gonn die. We found it so funny though because it really wasn't that extreme. After pictures next to the sighn we dicided to do one of the longest runs on Whistler Peak to Creek. We figured it was a good opppurunity to get some filming done. When we were about half way down in a double black section of the run, we saw this huge twenty foot tree hanging out over the run. Then this guy went full tilt up on the ridge grinded it and dropped the 20-25 feet drop back on the run. It was amazing.

Avalanche

Some time near the end of last month Patrick and I were coming back from Big Sky. We were making good time and then all of a sudden we see all the cars in fromt of su pulling off the highway. We pulled off the highway to see what was going on. Apparently there had been an avalanche earlier that day. We got stuck in the pass for eight hours. After the pass was finally cleaned up we managed to pull through. it was late really late and we dicided we weren't going to make it to school the next day. Also to out luck it was dumping down snow. We stopped in Kellog , Idaho. There jsut happeded to be a great ski resort there Silver Mountain. Silver Mountain was all back country so there was trees and powder everywehre. It was like a dream there was amazing snow up to my chest on all the ungroomed areas. To make it even better there were no bunny slopes. It was all blues or diamonds so it was very enjoyable.

Stevens Pass Corona Bowl

Pat, Avery and I went to Stevens Pass last Satuday. Avery's mom took us so we rode in their Mexican part van up to the mountain. When we go ttheir we immediately went to the top of the mounain and hit up the Corona Bowl. The Corona Bowl is a double black and Pat and I weren't sure if we could take Avery down it without him killing himself. It had dumped down snow the night before so there was powder everywhere and we figured he should be able to do it. It was Avery's wecond year dnowboarding so I felt kinda bad making him do Corona Bowl. AFter Pat and I dropped into the run and started tearing up the powder we asked each other "Wheres Avery?" after we stopped half way down. There Avery was at the top of the runa dn starts screaming as he points his board down the hill. He eats it and starts rolling and just plain kept rolling down the hill. Avery managed to stop half way down the hill and he was covered in snow. Pat and I were laughing hysterically and couldn't stop laughing the rest of the way down the fun. When we got to the bottom we asked each other "Wheres Avery" and just started cracking up again.

Snowboarding Conditions

Last Sunday Pat, Avery and me went to Mt. Baker to go snowboarding. Except in Pat’s case a skiing. The snow at Mt. Baker was fantastic because it was all powder. The only bad thing was that right under all the powder was rocks, sticks, and bush things. Also it got very windy while it was snowing and it felt like thousands of little bugs were biting your face. The wind combined with it snowing made snowboarding very trippy because you couldn’t see anything as you were going down the mountain. It was almost as if you were riding a roller coaster with you eyes closed. At times it got even worse because the wind started blowing so hard the wind stung your face and pushed you backward. On top of that it became white out conditions and you were hoping you wouldn’t wipe out. Other than the wind and horrible visibility everything was fantastic.
